The attorney for a Green Bay woman accused of killing and dismembering a man has been allowed to withdraw from the case. A hearing was held Monday to formally sign off on attorney Quinn Jolly’s request to withdraw as counsel for Taylor Schabusiness. New County Clerk for Winnebago County

For the first time in more than 24 years a new Winnebago County Clerk will be sworn into office during tonight’s County Board meeting. Green Lake County Corrections Positions

The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office has several openings for corrections officers for its jail. Chief Deputy Matt Vande Kolk says they also need a master control assistant. He says it is a key position at the jail responsible for a number of different tasks. The person is responsible for running a lot of the doors, radios and intercoms in the jail pods, logging information, scheduling some of the events in the jail, and answering phones. He says it’s a fast-paced job for someone with multi-tasking skills. He says it would be a good job for a younger person or even someone who is retired from a law enforcement position. More information about the positions are available on the Green Lake County’s website on their employment page.

Making Insurance Claims for Winter Storm Damage

Wisconsin Insurance Commissioner Nathan Houdek is sharing tips and reminders for state residents who have experienced property damage from last week’s winter storm. Houdek says, “If you experienced any damage, it’s important to notify your insurance agent or company right away to begin the claim process.” The Office of the Commissioner of Insurance recommends making a list of damaged items, taking photographs before you begin to clean up, don’t throw out any damaged property without the claim adjuster’s agreement, and keep all receipts that document the cost of the repairs or the replacement of damaged items. More information is available at the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance website.

The Wisconsin DNR is accepting artwork entries for the Wild Turkey, Pheasant and Waterfowl Stamp design contests. The winning designs will appear on the 2024 collection of stamps. Each year, local artists from around Wisconsin compete for an opportunity to have their artwork commemorated in a historic way on the wild turkey, pheasant and waterfowl stamps. Sales of these three stamps bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars annually for species management throughout the state, including habitat management, restoration, education and research projects. Hunters are required to purchase stamps to harvest these game birds. The contest is open to anyone 18 years of age or older living in Wisconsin who is a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident. The deadline to submit stamp designs is July 15th. Judging will take place on August 26th at the Waterfowl Hunters Expo in Oshkosh. The 2023 Wild Turkey, Pheasant, and Waterfowl Stamp design contest winner was Sam Timm of Wautoma, who swept all three categories. Contest rules and entry information is available on the DNR website.
