Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has emerged from a darkness retreat in Oregon, according to ESPN.
Reporter Xuan Thai spoke with Scott Berman, owner of Sky Cave Retreats in Oregon. Berman said Rodgers finished his darkness retreat on Wednesday. Berman told Xuan Thai that Rodgers, 39, spent time in a 300-square-foot room that was “devoid of light.” Rodgers had a bed and bathroom. Thai reports that lights can be turned on inside the little room.
Now the focus turns to where Rodgers will play football next season.
Before entering the retreat, Rodgers said on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Feb. 14 that he had scheduled four days and four nights in darkness isolation and was hoping to “have a better sense of where I’m at in my life.” Rodgers said he was not going to the retreat just to figure out whether he will play in 2023 or retire.
“I can’t help but think about football. It’s a love of mine. I’ve given my life to it. It’s always close to the front of my mind. I got a pretty cool opportunity to do a little self-reflection in some isolation. Then after that I feel like I’ll be a lot closer to a final, final decision,” Rodgers said before going into the retreat.
Rodgers is under contract with the Packers. He is set to make $59 million for playing with the team in 2023.
Some other teams have expressed interest in the former MVP.
“I’m not a free agent. I’m under contract with Packers, number one. That gets lost in the conversation a lot,” said Rodgers. “There’s been a couple years where we got ousted by the Niners in the playoffs, and I went and played at Pebble. Those years were very razzing, I would say, from the crowd. A lot of Niner yells and a lot of other well-timed trash talk. This year was a lot more positive. The sentiment was very positive. People wanting me to get traded to their team, and the Raiders fans were probably the most vocal, and the most numerous.”
The Bucks make their return from the All-Star break tonight when they host the Miami Heat. The big question on the minds of Bucks fans is when will Giannis Antetokounmpo return from the wrist injury he suffered last Thursday night against the Chicago Bulls? Antetokounmpo suffered a sprained ligament in his right wrist and is undergoing treatment with the expectation that he’ll be able to return to the lineup once the pain subsides.
Milwaukee (41-17) is in second place in the Eastern Conference, one game behind the Boston Celtics (43-17), and is on a 12-game winning streak. Chicago is 26-33 coming into tonight’s game. Tipoff is at 6:30.
The Green Bay women’s basketball team cemented its return to glory, clinching the regular season Horizon League championship with a 64-49 win over Cleveland State on Thursday night at the Kress Center.
Junior Natalie McNeal scored a game-high 16 points and Bailey Butler chipped in 11 as the Phoenix now sit a game ahead of Cleveland State with one game to go.
Both teams had entered tied atop the conference standings. The regular season finale will come Sunday with the #1 seed for the conference tourney already locked up.
“Green Bay women’s basketball is a culture that’s bought in,” said Natalie McNiel who scored a game-high 16 points. “Everyone’s going to work hard in the offseason, and all the games leading up to moments like this when it counts. I can tell you, we did feel the pressure a little bit, but I think just knowing that we worked very hard, everyone individually, to get ourselves in this position. Got a lot of confidence that we can lean back on when the big game comes.”
Green Bay faces Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday in the regular season finale in another double-header with the Green Bay Phoenix men who lost tonight to Cleveland State, 76-65.
The Green Bay Packers have announced plans for the Packers Tailgate Tour, which will take place April 11-15.
For the last two years, the event was called the ‘Packers Road Trip.’ This year, it returns to its original name but will follow the road trip format, traveling from Green Bay to Western and Northern Wisconsin to visit fans and thank them for their support.
Current players Aaron Jones, Elgton Jenkins and Romeo Doubs will join the tour along with former players Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Eddie Lacey and Davon House. Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy will also be in attendance.
Stops include Eau Claire on April 11, Superior on April 12, Ashland on April 13 and Minocqua on April 14. The customized Packers-themed bus will return to Green Bay on April 15. The tour will visit a number of locations, including schools, hospitals, retirement homes, businesses, retirement homes, event venues and community centers.

Wisconsin is at Michigan Sunday. The Badgers are coming off a 64-52 home victory over Iowa Wednesday night. Wisconsin (16-11, 8-5) is still a game behind Iowa (17-11, 9-8) in the Big Ten standings, but would win the tiebreaker in the event of an even conference finish due to the season sweep. Michigan is 16-12 overall and 8-9 in conference play.

RIPON — Ripon will host the 2023 Midwest Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24 and 25. Ripon recently won its 13th game in a row to clinch a share of the 2022-23 Midwest Conference Regular Season Championship, its fifth straight MWC title.
As the No. 1 seed, Ripon will face No. 4 seed Illinois College at 5 p.m. Friday. No. 2 Knox College will play No. 3 Cornell College at 7 p.m. The winners of those games will face each other at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Ripon Head Coach Lauren Busalacchi will be available for interviews after the game(s), and members of the media are welcome to attend practice from 4-5:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) and 4:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday at Willmore Center on the Ripon College campus.
