Tips Needed On Attempt To Steal Catalytic Converter
The Green Lake County Crime Stopper still need tips about a burglary that occurred in Berlin last month. Chief Deputy Matt Vande Kolk says between $5,000 to $6,000 worth of power tools were stolen from a work trailer in the 100 block of Water Street. He says they did identify a thief that was entering vehicles and taking valuables. They are also looking for tips on the person or persons responsible for trying to remove a catalytic converter from a bus in Berlin. He says they want to nip that in the bud before it does become an issue in the area. Ripon did have some similar thefts. He says there are places in the area that will pay for stolen catalytic converters because of the precious metals inside. Anyone with information is urged to call the Green Lake County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-GETTHEM that’s 1-800-438-8436 or text GETTHEM at 847411. You can also email getthem@co.green-lake.wi.us. All callers remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward or up to $1,000 if the tip leads to an arrest.
RSV Hitting Children Hard
A member of the former Ripon Community COVID-19 Task Force says the Tripledemic or combination of COVID-19, the flu, and RSV is taking its toll especially on those with existing respiratory issues and young children. Jeff Puhlmann-Becker says in the case of RSV most children get it before they are two years old, but the combination of respiratory illnesses seems to have moved up the time of year when children usually get RSV. Puhlmann-Becker says a vaccine for RSV hasn’t been developed yet but there are vaccines for COVID-19 and the flu which may not prevent you from getting them but could lessen the symptoms if you do.

Kimes Celebrates 6 Month Work Anniversary With Ripon Area Chamber Of Commerce
Ripon Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Mandy Kimes recently celebrated her six-month work anniversary with the Chamber. It came right after a successful Dickens of a Christmas event. Kimes previously was a campus minister for His House Christian Fellowship, a nonprofit Christian campus ministry at Ripon College. She says after nine years in that role she was looking for a new challenge and the Chamber position filled the bill. She says in addition to staging Septemberfest and Dickens the Chamber moved into a new building so it has been a busy half year but she is grateful for the support she has received. Kimes succeeded Jason Mansmith as Executive Director of the Chamber after Mansmith took a new role with the Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake.
