Green Lake, Wis. – An eclectic mix of performers will take the stage at Thrasher Opera House this season.  With a quality mix of repeat performers and new artists to debut at Thrasher, we are excited to welcome our guests to Winter/Spring Season.  Thrasher Opera House Executive Director Rachael Avery says, “We’re looking forward to a fresh, new season that represents a variety of genres, from blues to Gypsy swing, singer/songwriters, jazz, and everything in between. We’ll welcome several new artists for the first time; others are fan favorites who will bring their talents back to the historical stage.  Tickets will go on sale for all shows on Tuesday, November 15, at 11:00 a.m.  More information on all shows is available at www.thrasheroperahouse.com or by calling 920.294.4279

November 18 | Harmonious Wail | Doors and Bar 6:45 p.m. | Show 7:30 p.m. | Tickets $24

The members of Harmonious Wail are purveyors of Americana-infused Gypsy Jazz, who continue to take their listeners on a ride via the music of the Hot Club sounds of Parisian cafes, to the deepest blues of the Memphis Delta, to the heartfelt folk scenes across every-town-America. This harmonious clique is sublime entertainers, great educators, and lifters of spirits. November 26 – Showing the holiday film “The Muppet Christmas Carol” | Photos 1-2 p.m. | Movie 2 p.m.

Gather your friends and family and join us at the historic Thrasher Opera House theater for a free showing of the movie “The Muppet Christmas Carol.” You can even show up in your coziest holiday pajamas! This movie will be shown free of charge; donations are welcome. There are only 200 seats, so come early to get your spot!

Doors open at 1 pm, and the movie starts at 2 pm. Holiday goodies will be available for purchase.

Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band is “the greatest front-porch blues band in the world,” led by Reverend Peyton, whom most consider the premier finger picker playing today. Their latest record went #1 on the Billboard, iTunes, and Sirius XM Blues Charts.  Season Sponsor: Special Properties.

December 10 | Robin Spielberg “Spirit of the Holiday” | Doors and Bar 6:45 p.m. | Show 7:30 p.m. | Tickets $24

Robin Spielberg is one of America’s most beloved pianists/composers. With an impressive tour schedule and eighteen recordings, this Steinway Artist has been winning the hearts of listeners worldwide with her compelling melodies and sensitive piano technique since debuting her first recording of original solos for piano, “Heal of the Hand.” This evening will include Robin’s gorgeous arrangements for the season, from traditional Christmas carols to winter favorites and tales from the bench that uplift and inspire. The high-energy doo-wop group, The Alley Cats, will deliver harmonies, humor, and good holiday cheer with TWO Christmas-themed shows on Saturday, December 17, 2022. January 2023

January 06 | Charlie Parr | Doors and Bar 6:45 p.m. | Show 7:30 p.m. | Tickets $24
Born in Minnesota, this country blues musician has never had a formal lesson but wows crowds with his incredible fingerpicking on his Mule resonator, National resonator guitar, fretless open-back banjo, and twelve-string guitar, often in the Piedmont blues style.

January 16 | Missoula Tryouts | 4-6 p.m. | Free
An audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of THE FROG PRINCE on Monday, January 16, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Those auditioning should arrive between 3:30 and 4 p.m. and plan to stay for two hours. Parents are welcome to stay for auditions as well. Some cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the auditions; others will be released at 6 p.m. after making cast announcements.

This program is free for participants, thanks to the support of our wonderful community.

Approximately 50-60 roles are available for local students. All students, grades 1-12, are encouraged to audition. No preparation is necessary. If cast, a rehearsal schedule will be provided – most students should plan on rehearsing 4-8:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 17 through Friday, January 20. The performances will be held on Saturday, January 21, at 3 and 5:30 p.m.

January 21 | Missoula Children’s Theatre Shows – The Frog Prince

Approximately 50-60 local students will be putting on a production of The Frog Prince at the historic Thrasher Opera House on Saturday, January 21.
Show 1 – Doors open at 2:30 p.m., show begins at 3 p.m.

Show 2 – Doors open at 5 p.m., show begins at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults.

January 28 | Mary Mack | Doors and Bar 6:45 p.m. | Show 7:30 p.m. | Tickets $35
A hybrid of Minnesota and Wisconsin, this comedian is a favorite on radio and podcasts. She’s appeared in Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival and HBO’s Andy Kaufman Awards. TV credits include Conan, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and Last Comic Standing.

Songs that weave a universal perspective about human existence’s questions, struggles, and triumphs. The shows are guitar-driven grit and soul – electrifying and unique in the way that Porter’s voice blends and fuses with his fretwork.

A founding member of the band Trampled Under Foot, she and her brothers took top honors at the International Blues Challenge. Nicole recently received her fifth Blues Music Award, most notably her third for Bass Instrumentalist.

March 2023

Folk Roots magazine has described the band as an “Irish music dream team.” From the start, the band’s complex arrangements and unique sound reshaped traditional music’s boundaries and energized audiences worldwide.

March 11 | Dirty Dozen Brass Band | Doors and Bar 6:45 p.m. | Show 7:30 p.m. | Tickets $45
Hailing from New Orleans, this band incorporates traditional brass-band music into a blend of Bebop Jazz, Funk, and R&B/Soul.  They’ve toured over 30 countries on five continents, recorded 12 albums, and collaborated with artists from Widespread Panic to Norah Jones.

April 2023

Coming off of an incredible GRAMMY win for 2015’s Shine For All The People, Nashville rocker Mike Farris keeps it earthy and personal on Silver & Stone. The album weaves through music the way he has done throughout his career, starting with the Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies.
