10/27/22 Darrell Brooks Found Guilty on All Counts in Waukesha Christmas Parade Attack

A Waukesha County jury Wednesday found Darrell Brooks guilty of killing six people and injuring scores of others when he drove through the crowd at the Christmas Parade in Waukesha in November of 2021.The jury arrived at its verdicts after a little over three hours of deliberation. They found him guilty of all 76 counts brought against him. Brooks hung his head in his hands while the verdicts were being read but remained calm when the jury was polled. Brooks represented himself during the four-week trial often being reprimanded for his erratic outbursts. A pre-sentencing hearing will be held on Monday.
Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul said of the trial, “I am grateful to the many people who ensured that he was convicted and will face the consequences for his heinous crimes.
U.S. Senator Ron Johnson said he wanted to thank Judge Jennifer Dorow for her service and patience “putting up with this murderer.”
