22 August 2022 News

A 26-year-old Oshkosh man is facing multiple charges for leading Fond du Lac County authorities on a 28-mile chase through parts of the Village of Rosendale, and cities of Fond du Lac and Waupun late Sunday morning. It started in the Village of Rosendale when police tried to pull a vehicle over on State Highway 23 for having no registration plates. The vehicle fled east in the westbound lane. The driver drove the wrong way at several points during the pursuit on State Highway 23 and U.S. Highway 151. He ultimately crashed trying to turn north on Wonser Road from Highway 151. He fled on foot and was captured. He was taken to St. Agnes Hospital for medical evaluation and then to the Fond du Lac County Jail. During the pursuit a Sheriff’s squad car, citizen’s vehicle, and several highway fences were damaged. No one was injured. The pursuit included Rosendale, Fond du Lac, and Waupun Police Departments, the Fond du Lac and Dodge County Sheriff’s Department, and the State Patrol.
