A 30-year-old Theresa man convicted of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle has been sentenced to 8 years in prison and 7 years of extended supervision. David Worley was sentenced Thursday in Fond du Lac County court. In April he pled no contest to the charge just days before a jury trial. Worley was driving drunk on September 15th of 2020 when his vehicle ran a red light at the intersection of Johnson and Main Streets in Fond du Lac and crashed into a city ambulance. A passenger in his car, a 21-year-old Fond du Lac man died in the collision. The two paramedics and patient in the ambulance suffered minor injuries. Worley’s blood alcohol level at the time was more than 2 ½ times the legal limit. District Attorney Eric Toney says it was a tragic loss of life that should never have happened.
