7/20/22 FDL County Chase and Drug Bust
20 July 2022 News
A 28-year-old Racine man is in the Fond du Lac County Jail facing fleeing, concealed weapon and drug charges following a nearly 14 mile chase on Interstate 41 late last night. It started when the suspect’s vehicle made an unsafe lane deviation in Winnebago County. A sheriff’s deputy cut off the chase as the vehicle entered Fond du Lac County and a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy tried to pull the vehicle over for another unsafe lane deviation and because the license plate didn’t match the vehicle it was on. During the pursuit a white bag was tossed from the suspect’s vehicle onto I-41. A trailing deputy picked that up. The suspect’s vehicle lost control as it entered Dodge County and went into a ditch crashing near Quad Graphics in Lomira. The vehicle became disabled and stopped on railroad tracks west of I-41. The driver fled on foot but deputies and Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s K9 Iro located him hiding in some tall grass. He was arrested. Deputies found a loaded handgun and digital scale in the suspect’s vehicle. The bag tossed on I-41 contained 5 Ziploc bags with around 2,500 counterfeit oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl and 3 bags of suspected cocaine weighing 84 grams.
