The patient is currently isolating. The DHS is working with federal and local partners to identify people who have been in contact with that person. While the number of confirmed monkeypox cases is growing in the U.S., the overall risk to the general public remains low.

Future Of Rolling Meadows Golf Course To Be Discussed

The finances and future of the Fond du Lac County-owned Rolling Meadows Golf Course will be discussed during a meeting of the UW-Extension Education, Agriculture and Recreation Committee tonight. The meeting is at 5:30 at the Rolling Meadows Golf Course meeting room in Fond du Lac. County Executive Sam Kaufman says he wants the public to get engaged in the discussion. Over the years the golf course has accrued a debt around $2.6 million. FDL County Sheriff Commends Deputies And Department K9s

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was able to take a significant amount of drugs off the streets thanks to three traffic stops on Interstate 41 over the last three days of June. Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says the one that stands out the most resulted in three arrests and the seizure of 1,032 counterfeit hydrocodone pills that were laced with fentanyl. He says those fake hydrocodone pills could have resulted in a large number of overdoses because users wouldn’t have known what they were getting. He commends their deputies, K9s, and K9 handlers for the work they did on those three traffic stops June 28th through the 30th.

Ribbon Cutting For EAA Education Center

The EAA’s new education center, the first expansion to the Aviation Center in Oshkosh in more than 20 years will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony today. The $6.2 million, two-story addition, commonly known as Project 21 will provide aviation training and education to all ages. Dick Knapinski says it has been under construction for a little over a year but now is ready to go. The ground floor will house the Pilot Proficiency Center which opens the week of AirVenture. He says it will help pilots sharpen their flight skills with 16 flight simulators, and flight instructors leading the programming.  The Youth Education Center on the second floor will allow students in person or online to learn about aviation and even how to design and build simple forms of aircraft like paper airplanes or airfoils. Knapinski says 3-D printers and a wind tunnel will help students build and test their designs.
