Update:
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office Sunday located a 45-foot powerboat that struck a two-story party boat on the Fox River injuring seven people. It happened in the city of Oshkosh between the Oregon Street bridge and the Wisconsin Street bridge just before 10 o’clock Friday night. Sheriff’s Lieutenant Craig Quick says there were 43 passengers and crew on the stern-wheel pleasure cruise paddleboat that sustained severe damage to the port side when it was struck by the private powerboat. The paddleboat made it safely to the south shore and passengers safely disembarked. One person was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and six people were treated at the scene and released. The powerboat fled the scene but was located yesterday. Witnesses and surveillance video confirm there were seven people on the powerboat before and after the crash. Investigators are still looking for the operator and passengers that were on the powerboat.
