23 June 2022 News

A federal grand jury has indicted a 53-year-old Oshkosh man who described himself as the “next mass shooter.” According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin Whittier Ives was indicted on a felon in possession of a firearm charge. According to court documents a witness contacted Omro Police on June 4th and said they saw Ives loading ammunition, magazines, and a long gun into his vehicle. Ives showed the witness a picture of a person on his phone and stated that he was “going to kill him, along with another person and a bunch of other people.” Ives planned to do it at a “club in Appleton.”  He also stated he “had nothing to live for” and “will be the next mass shooter.” After receiving the tip, Omro Police spotted Ives’ vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle uncovered boxes of ammunition and numerous magazines and a semi-automatic rifle. Omro Police and the FBI investigated the case.
