A heat advisory will be in effect for much of the state from noon to 7 pm tonight. Among the counties in the advisory are Dodge, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, Waupaca, Waushara and Winnebago. Heat index values or feels-like temperatures will be from 100 to 107 degrees. Hot temperatures and high humidity can cause heat-related illnesses. Young children, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses should limit their time outdoors. If you are working outdoors try to avoid strenuous activity and drink plenty of water. It is also recommended you use sun screen with an SPF of 15 or higher. Those who do not have air-conditioning should look for a place like a library or shelter that does have air-conditioning.
