He says one of the biggest spending bills passed during the Biden Administration for $1.9 trillion set us on the wrong path. The federal lawmaker from Glenbeulah says a former Barack Obama Administration official warned Biden against doing that knowing what the consequences would be. He says you can’t hold companies and businesses responsible for inflation you have to start with cutting government spending. Grothman points out one of the worst periods of inflation in the country’s history was during the Jimmy Carter Administration and it took two to three years into Ronald Reagan’s Administration to start to turn that around.

A feminine products drive is underway this week in Fond du Lac and Dodge counties seeking donations of pads, tampons, menstrual cups and panty liners. The collected items will be donated to schools for students that might be caught off guard by their periods. United Way chapters for Fond du Lac and Dodge counties and Ripon are participating. Jeff Puhlmann-Becker is the President of the Board of Directors for the Ripon Area United Way. He says the drive comes at a time when those products are in short supply.
