Congressman Grothman On Overturning Of Roe V Wade

Congressman Glenn Grothman says he doesn’t believe Wisconsin will enforce a prohibition against abortion while the U.S. Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe versus Wade becomes official. The high court’s decision will leave enforcement and abortion laws up to the states. The federal lawmaker from Glenbeulah says Wisconsin has three large abortion clinics, but District Attorneys in those counties have already said they won’t enforce a Wisconsin prohibition against abortion. Attorney General Josh Kaul has already said he won’t enforce a 1973 Wisconsin prohibition against abortion when Roe versus Wade is overturned.

Avian Influenza In FDL County

With the spread of the avian influenza to Fond du Lac County the County’s Health Department is monitoring the situation. County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says the backyard flock that the influenza spread to has been depopulated. She says it’s rare, but they want to keep an eye on any people that handle such flocks to make sure it doesn’t spread to them. She says if they showed symptoms they would be tested to see if they contracted it. She says there has only been one know case of a person getting the avian influenza, but if someone did it would show as a respiratory issue. Those who believe their birds are showing symptoms of avian influenza should call 608-224-8472. More information about the avian influenza is available at the County Health Department’s website.
