Fond du Lac, Wisc.: Each year, Moraine Park Technical College recognizes the hard work and academic achievement of students at the College’s annual Student Awards Banquet held at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Fond du Lac.
Moraine Park presented the 2022 Student of the Year to Ryan Riley of Fond du Lac. The Student of the Year Award is designed to recognize a student who excelled in and outside of the classroom and has taken full advantage of the opportunities that Moraine Park has made available for them.
The 2022-23 District Student Ambassador Award was presented to Wesley Kane of Fond du Lac. The Moraine Park District Student Ambassador Award identifies outstanding students in the technical college system, with nominations solicited from faculty and staff in the spring semester of each year.
Technical Achievement Awards were presented to seven students. To receive this award, recipients must be enrolled in a technical diploma program and have maintained a 3.25 GPA. They are judged on classroom participation and other contributions and characteristics that exemplify an outstanding student. The 2022 recipients were Aaron Polensky of Beaver Dam, Bailey Huebner of Hartford, Bo Jacob of Fond du Lac, Cody Farley of Oshkosh, Ian Papke of Cedarburg, Jakob Jaeger of Fond du Lac, and Jeremiah Stewart Grafton.
The Campus Impact Award recognizes students who have served the College by participating in a college focus group, a college-related function, or a club/student government activity or project. Other considerations include GPA, reliability and follow-through. In total, 10 awards were presented, recipients were Ariana Estep of Beaver Dam, Ashley Aden of Oshkosh, Emily Klemm-Jacoby of Port Washington, Izak Gruber of Elmwood, Melanie Barker of West Bend, Morgan Diels of Beaver Dam, Nalley Solis of Beaver Dam, Tina Lee of Sheboygan, William Fuhrmann, and Allison Newman of West Bend.
The Meritorious Service Award is granted to students who have served the College through their leadership and participation in co-curricular activities such as student clubs, student government or other volunteer opportunities. This year’s 18 recipients include Carrie Huerta of Sheboygan, Christina Brueggemann of Fond du Lac, Cody Farley of Oshkosh, Damien Garza of Watertown, Derek O’Leary of Fond du Lac, Jamie Brown of Sheboygan, Jessica Krueger of Mayville, Katrina Wolfe of West Bend, Kaytlin Sterba of Fond du Lac, Kaytlyn Schultz of Lomira, Kevin Zimmerman of Sheboygan, Kody Weiland of North Freedom, Michael Parker of West Bend, Mitchell Burch of Beaver Dam, Philip Paulus of Fredonia, Ryan Cook of Oostburg, Tammy Wentlandt of Jackson, and Zachary Demaskie of Fond du Lac.
The Leadership and Service Award is reserved for members of Moraine Park’s Student Government. A student’s comprehensive level of commitment to the College and their representation of the student body through their attendance and engagement in Student Government and its related opportunities are taken into consideration during award selection. This year’s recipients are Aspyn Koslowski of West Bend, Collin Sauer of Oconomowoc, Derek O’Leary of Fond du Lac, Diego Barragan of Sun Prairie, Eve Knappenberger of Oshkosh, Haley Van Raden of West Bend, Mailia Bachleitner of Juneau, Mina Vang-Xiong of Fond du Lac, and Wesley Kane of Fond du Lac.
The President’s Community Impact Award recognizes students who have reached over 200 hours of community service in their time at Moraine Park. This year’s recipients were Alaska Burroughs of Fond du Lac, Corey Koch of Fond du Lac, Heather Quickle of Waupun, and Julianna Stuht of Hubertus.
