Ripon, WI- Ripon Public Library is excited to announce its June lineup of special events for all ages! Thanks to funding from the Friends of the library, events and special offerings are always free. Registration is not required.

Kickoff Event | Sat June 4 | Drop In 10 AM—1 PM | Everyone Welcome

Splash in to register for the 2022 summer reading program! Enjoy yard games and a hands-on learn and play station hosted by Green Lake Association. Ripon’s Water Department offers 5-Things-to-Know about Ripon’s water with everyday tips for keeping it healthy.

Funday Monday! | Yoga+Yum | June 6 @ 6:30 -7:30 PM | Kids & Families

Simple yoga poses plus a fruit & vegetable snack = healthy fun for the whole family! It’s good for the brain, the body, and all-around awesome living skills. Kid-size mats provided, adults BYO mat. Repeats on June 20 and July 18.

Papermaking Workshops | Everyone Welcome

Tues June 7 @ 10 Am—Noon & 2-4 Pm | Wed June 8 @ 5-7 Pm | Thu June 9 @ 10 Am—Noon & 2-4 Pm

Papermaker Tanya Schwartz-Roeper’s mobile studio is at the library for drop-in crafting. All ages and abilities are invited to explore and create with this exciting and accessible art form!

Guitarist Bill Hill | Sat June 11 @ 11AM -Noon | Everyone Welcome

Join us for live music in the library! Bill Hill is a fingerstyle guitarist and vocalist specializing in jazz and popular standards from the 1920’s to the 1960’s. Bill won the Jazz Artist of the Year in 2018 from the Wisconsin Area Music Industry.

Welcome to active learning and fun! Early literacy and STEM concepts come to life through stories, music, movement, and enrichment activities. It’s a happy place for kids and caregivers to learn & play. Gather on the side lawn. BYO chairs or blankets. In inclement weather Storytime moves indoors.

Mini Art Canvas | Tues June 14 @ 2-4 Pm & Thur June 16 @ 6-7:30 PM | Everyone Welcome

Drop in to create a mini work of art! We will provide you with a mini canvas and a variety of supplies so you can show your talent! All ages are welcome to attend either session. Art created can be displayed in the Library’s Mini Art Show until 8/29 or taken home the same day.

Come and have a cup of coffee and listen to a classical story every other Friday starting June 17th. Stick around after the story and chat with great people from the library and Ripon Senior Activity Center!

Speed Puzzling | Tues June 21 @ 2-4 PM |Everyone Welcome

Do you love to put together puzzles? Race against other teams to see who can put a puzzle together the fastest! Join us and the Ripon Senior Activity Center for a speed puzzling event! Teams of up to 4 can sign up ahead of time or the day of the event. Puzzles provided. All Ages Event

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS! And on to your wall! Teens, drop in for Beanie Baby Taxidermy. All supplies provided to make your own wood-mounted stuffed animal taxidermy decoration.

Want to help reduce waste from the fashion industry? Make a one-of-a-kind upcycled t-shirt tote! All supplies provided, but if you have a special t-shirt you want to upcycle, bring it!

Ongoing Programs

Romper Room | Kids & Families

Physical activity and human connections are important for healthy, happy human beings, and the Romper Room facilitates both! Focusing on active play the room features a trike & trailer, foot-to-floor vehicles, a balance bike, tunnels, tumbling mats, balance beams, and more. The Romper Room is most engaging for ages 2-6 years. Reserve a play time with family and friends at the library. Drop-ins welcome.

Monday Matinees | Everyone Welcome*

Every Monday at 2:00 p.m. enjoy a newly released or classic film on the big screen. *Many movies are family friendly, but please call the library or check the website in advance to verify title and rating. Please note there will be no Monday Matinee on May 30th as the Library will be closed for Memorial Day.

Book Bites | Everyone Welcome

Take a morsel-sized look at a great book with Adult & Teen Services Librarian Rachel. New episodes of Book Bites will be posted every two weeks on our Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram!
