5/10/22 Strong Winds Spark Woodpile Fire
10 May 2022 News
A barn in Fond du Lac County’s Town of Calumet was slightly damaged when strong winds Monday evening sparked a woodpile that had been smoldering for a few days. Sheriff’s deputies and the Town of Calumet Fire Department were called to W1407 County Road HHH for the woodpile that was on fire and out of control. The landowner had burned the pile of wood scraps and saw dust last Thursday, but the pile smoldered a few days before it was reignited by strong winds. The fire spread to a swamp and burned approximately 2 acres. There was minor damage to a barn as well. Fifteen fire departments responded to the blaze at Lisowe Acres which is owned by John Lisowe.
