State health officials say COVID-19 cases remained near 3-month highs over the weekend. The state saw more than 4,500 new cases pushing the 7-day rolling average to 1,767 new cases a day. Although no Wisconsin counties have high levels of COVID activity, 17 are now in the medium category and the remaining 55 are still in the low category.  Seventy-six (76) people were hospitalized over the weekend. The Wisconsin Hospital Association reports 288 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state with 40 of them in intensive care units. The state is also averaging 6 deaths a day due to the coronavirus.

Winnebago County is nearing 45,000 total COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began. Forty-nine (49) new cases and 2 deaths were reported in Fond du Lac County over the weekend.  A number of counties including Dodge County are no longer posting daily COVID-19 numbers.
