The COVID-19 virus is spreading in Wisconsin again as there are no longer any counties where coronavirus activity is low. Last week it was low in Forest and Menominee counties. The state’s Department of Health Services says 16 counties now have moderate levels of the virus and the number with high levels of activity have increased from 52 to 56 over the last week. The state confirmed 588 new cases as the 7-day rolling average for new COVID cases increased Wednesday to 412 compared to 401 the day before. Sixteen people were hospitalized. The Wisconsin Hospital Association reports 144 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state with 28 of those people in intensive care units.
Winnebago County Wednesday reported 7 new COVID-19 cases. Nine new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 6 new cases. Green Lake and Waupaca counties both reported 2 new cases and Waushara County had no new cases of the coronavirus.
