5 April 2022 News

Wisconsin is slowly seeing its new cases of COVID-19 increase. The bump in cases may be temporary, but yesterday the 7-day average for new cases increased to 396 compared to 360 last Friday. The 7-day average for new cases has been below 400 since March 10th. Meanwhile the positivity rate for new cases has also risen to 3.4 percent. The state’s Department of Health Services only reported 1 coronavirus death over the last three days as that 7-day average fell to 3 deaths per day. The Wisconsin Hospital Association Monday reported 147 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state the fewest since last July and the number of people in intensive care units yesterday was 27.

Winnebago County reported 16 new cases over the weekend. Twelve new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 9 new cases. Green Lake and Waushara counties each had 2 new cases, and Waupaca County had 7 new cases of the coronavirus.
