4/28/22 Teen Charged In Lily Peters Murder
28 April 2022 News
Bond was set at $1 million cash Wednesday for the teen suspected of murdering and sexually assaulting 10-year-old Lily Peters of Chippewa Falls. The 14-year-old boy appeared via video from a juvenile facility and his name has not been released. Police say he knew Lily Peters. The criminal complaint is sealed and won’t be released to the media. But Chippewa County District Attorney Wade Newell revealed some of the heinous nature of the crime during yesterday’s hearing. He told the judge the high bond was necessary “Given the suspect’s statements that when he did get off the trail, he punched the victim in the stomach, knocked her to the ground, essentially strangled her, hit her with a stick, before strangling her to the point of death-before he then sexually assaulted her.” The boy has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide, first degree sexual assault and first-degree sexual assault of a child under age 13 resulting in great bodily harm. A hearing next Thursday will determine whether the suspect will be tried as an adult. (Chippewa Falls Police Department photo)
