4/26/22 Missing Chippewa Falls Girl Found Murdered

The worst fears of a parent were confirmed during a press conference in Chippewa Falls Monday afternoon; 10-year-old Lily Peters had been murdered. Chippewa Falls Police Chief Matthew Kelm confirmed the death of the 4th grader who was reported missing Sunday night after failing to return from her Aunt’s home. “At this point, we are considering this a homicide investigation. We do not have anyone in custody at this time. And we are continuing to follow up on multiple leads.” Lily’s bicycle was found in some woods near a walking trail. Multiple agencies were called in to help search for her. At 9:15 Monday morning her body was found near a walking trail. Chief Kelm said there may be a danger to the public and asked that everyone remain vigilant. The local school district is asking parents to pick up and drop off their kids at school.
