Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services reported 1,536 new COVID-19 cases over the holiday weekend, but only 330 of those new cases were reported during the 24 hour period between Sunday and Monday. The 1,500 plus cases over the 3-day span were the most reported over a weekend since February 21st. Only 1 death was reported and 25 people were hospitalized with the coronavirus over the weekend. The Wisconsin Hospital Association Monday reported 137 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state with 26 in intensive care units.
Winnebago County reported 39 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend. Eighteen new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and 9 new cases in Dodge County. Green Lake County had 8 new cases, Waupaca County had 4 new cases, and Waushara County had 7 news cases as it moved past 5,000 (5,003) total coronavirus cases since the pandemic began.
