Wisconsin entered the holiday weekend with 804 new cases of COVID-19 Friday about the same amount as Thursday. The 7-day rolling average for new cases now stands at 626 daily cases. Wednesday through Friday was the first time the state has seen three days in a row of 800 or more new cases since February 21st through February 23rd. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services also reported 7 more deaths Friday, but 5 of those were not recent. There were only 4 hospitalizations. The Wisconsin Hospital Association Friday reported 140 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state with 30 of them in intensive care units.
Winnebago County Friday reported 26 new COVID-19 cases. Six new cases were recorded in both Dodge and Fond du Lac counties and 5 new cases in Green Lake County. Waupaca and Waushara counties each had 1 new case of the coronavirus.
