Team Trivia Will Benefit FDL Literacy Program

Question: Do you know the name of the person who established a trading post in 1785 at “the foot of the lake” that would be known as Lake Winnebago? Or how many other lakes exist in Fond du Lac County?
Curious? Then Team Trivia 2022 is for you. For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, Team Trivia returns to being held in an in-person format. It will be held Tuesday, April 19 and Thursday, April 21 at 6:30 pm. each evening at Whispering Springs Golf Club. The fun, 22nd-annual event is a fundraiser for Fond du Lac Literacy Services.
Anyone can play Team Trivia, where teams of four put their heads together to answer questions on movies, music, sports, history, literature, geography, science and Wisconsin trivia. Gift certificates will be awarded to members of the top-3 teams each evening, but everyone wins because the event supports a very worthy cause: adult literacy.
Want to improve your chances to win? Purchase an answer voucher, which can be used on a question when your team is stumped. A team can have just one, and it must be purchased before the game begins, so teams must choose wisely! A voucher may be purchased with your registration.
Team registration is $100 and is due Monday, April 4. Sign-in begins at 5 p.m., as does the meal that may be purchased separately, and the quizzing begins at 6:30 p.m.
To register online – or for a downloadable registration form – visit www.fdlpl.org/events. Forms are available also at the Fond du Lac Public Library or by calling Fond du Lac Literacy Services at 920-322-3932 or email literacy@fdlpl.org.
Team Trivia is supported by its platinum sponsors: Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes, CD Smith Construction, the Fond du Lac Area Foundation, Society Insurance Charitable Fund, Fond du Lac Area United Way, Grande Cheese Company, Radio Plus, and SSM Health.
Trivia answers: Laurent Ducharme established a trading post at the forks of the Fond du Lac River in 1785, not far from Lake Winnebago, which is one of 42 lakes in the county.
