FDL Woman Charged For Chase And Standoff

Before giving herself up to police after a chase and standoff Sunday morning a 38-year-old Fond du Lac woman hugged the 88-year-old woman whose home she entered trying to get away from them. According to a criminal complaint the victim had to reassure Rosario Lemke (pictured) that Fond du Lac Police weren’t going to hurt her. During a 7-mile chase with police Lemke hit a mailbox, nearly rammed a squad car and broke the rear axle of the vehicle she was driving. When the vehicle finally stopped Lemke fled on foot through an open garage door of the victim’s home where she closed the blinds and curtains. Police contacted her by phone and she was eventually talked into giving herself up. The victim wasn’t harmed but told officers she believed Lemke was on some kind of drugs because she wasn’t acting right. Lemke has been charged with felony counts of burglary, fleeing an officer and three misdemeanors including criminal trespass, intimidating or dissuading a victim from reporting, and disorderly conduct. Bond was set at $5,000 cash and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 7th. (Photo from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office)
