3 March 2022 News

Wisconsin passed another sad milestone in the epidemic Wednesday as 40 more reported deaths moved it past 12,000 lives claimed during the health crisis. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says it has been just less than two years since the first deaths from COVID-19 were reported in the state and since then 12,012 people have lost their lives to the virus. Better news is 666 new cases were reported dropping the 7-day rolling average to 600 and the positivity rate to 4.1 percent. Only 6 counties have “very high” levels of coronavirus activity now with the remaining 66 in the “high” category. Fifty-two people were hospitalized with the virus Wednesday.

Winnebago County reported 19 new cases of the COVID-19 virus Wednesday. Eleven (11) new cases were reported in Fond du Lac County as it moved past 29,000 total cases (29,005) and Dodge County had 13 new cases. One new case was recorded in Green Lake County, 4 new cases in Waupaca County, and Waushara County had 2 new cases of the coronavirus and 2 deaths.
