New COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin continued to drop Tuesday with 3,300 new cases reported to the state’s Department of Health Services. That dropped the 7-day rolling average for new cases by 400 cases a day to 5,562 daily cases. However, there was a surge of hospitalizations with 578 people being admitted to hospitals across the state. Despite that discharges and deaths outnumbered new patients. The Wisconsin Hospital Association reported 1,498 hospitalizations with 312 of those patients in intensive care units. The state also reported 73 more deaths.
Winnebago County reported 165 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday. Seventy-six (76) new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 77 new cases and 3 deaths. Green Lake County had 42 new cases, Waupaca County had 45 new cases, and Waushara County had 24 new cases of the coronavirus.
