2/18/22 COVID 19 Report Thursday

Another sign that the COVID-19 Omicron variant surge may be coming to an end only Douglas County is still seeing “critically high” levels of COVID activity. The state’s Department of Health Services reported Thursday the remaining 71 counties are still seeing “very high” levels of coronavirus activity. Yesterday 1,586 new cases were identified as the 7-day rolling average fell again to 1,493 daily cases. It is the lowest 7-day average since last August. Forty-seven (47) more deaths were reported but 30 of those occurred over the past 30 days. The DHS says 76 people were hospitalized. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says 770 people are hospitalized across the state with the coronavirus and 158 are in intensive care units.

Winnebago County reported 45 new COVID-19 cases Thursday. Thirty-eight (38) new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 28 new cases and 1 death. Green Lake County had 9 new cases, Waupaca County had 10 new cases and 1 death, and Waushara County had 5 new cases of the coronavirus.
