State health officials Monday reported 3,877 new COVID-19 cases, but only 739 new cases since Sunday making it the first time since Christmas fewer than 1,000 new cases were reported in a single day. It is also the first time since October 30th that it occurred on a day other than a holiday. The Department of Health Services says the state’s 7-day average is now at 1,941 daily cases the first time below 2,000 since November 2nd.  The DHS also reported 47 deaths since Friday. The Wisconsin Hospital Association Monday reported 884 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state with 171 of them in intensive care units. That’s the fewest COVID hospitalizations since August 27th and the fewest patients in intensive care units since August 12th.

Winnebago County Monday reported 32 new COVID-19 cases as it moved past 43,000 (43,007) total cases since the pandemic began. Fifty-eight (58) new cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Fond du Lac County since Friday and Dodge County had 59 new cases and 1 death. Green Lake County had 16 new cases, Waupaca County had 26 new cases and 2 deaths, and Waushara County reported 14 new cases of the coronavirus.
