Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services says new cases, deaths, and hospitalizations due to COVID-19 are returning to pre-surge levels. Friday the department reported 2,123 new cases as the 7-day rolling average for daily cases fell to 2,337 the first time it has been below 2,500 cases since last November. Also on Friday 23 deaths were reported and 66 hospitalizations. New hospitalizations are at 6-month lows. The Wisconsin Hospital Association Friday reported 1,052 COVID-19 hospitalizations with 204 of those patients in intensive care units.
Winnebago County reported 55 new COVID-19 cases Friday. Thirty-nine new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 45 new cases. Green Lake and Waushara County each had 7 new cases and Waupaca County had 12 new cases of the coronavirus.
