The drivers of two vehicles that collided on State Highway 175 in Fond du Lac County Wednesday morning were injured in the crash. Sheriff’s officials got a call about the accident in the Town of Byron at 6:47 am. Sergeant Ryan Zitlow says a southbound SUV was unsafely passing other vehicles when the accident occurred. The driver lost control while passing another vehicle and crossed over the centerline striking a northbound pickup truck in the northbound lane. Both drivers were hurt and were taken to hospitals for treatment. The 27-year-old Fond du Lac man driving the southbound SUV was flown to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee with serious injuries. An ambulance took the 43-year-old Theresa man who was driving the pickup truck to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with minor injuries. Sergeant Zitlow says the driver of SUV was cited for passing in a no-passing zone, failure to maintain control of the vehicle, and failure to fasten his seatbelt.
