1/24/22 Fire Destroys Garage In The Town Of Ripon

Fire destroyed an attached garage and damaged a kitchen at N8857 County Road PP in Ripon Sunday night. Ripon Area Fire District Chief Tim Saul says they got a call about a garage fire at 5:04 pm and arrived on the scene a few minutes later where they encountered heavy smoke coming from the garage. A second hose line went into the home where there was high heat. The fire was put out with the blaze destroying the garage and damaging the kitchen. A vehicle in the garage and other contents were also destroyed. There was smoke damage throughout the home. No one was hurt and the family got out after being alerted by smoke detectors. Saul says the fire is not considered suspicious, but is still under investigation. Numerous fire departments responded to the scene. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Ripon Police, and Ripon Guardian Ambulance also responded to the scene. Firefighters cleared from the scene a little over 3 hours after the initial call.
