1/27/22 COVID 19 Report Thursday

Forty-seven more deaths were attributed to COVID-19 Thursday, which means Wisconsin this weekend will surpass 11,000 total deaths during the pandemic. The new deaths reported leave the state three shy of that mark. Meanwhile the Department of Health Services yesterday reported 8,084 new cases, but the 7-day rolling average for new cases continued to decline now averaging 7,958 cases a day. The DHS also reported 156 more hospitalizations. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says there are 1,774 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state with 362 of them in intensive care units.

Winnebago County reported 340 new COVID-19 cases Thursday. One hundred and sixty-four (164) new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 179 new cases. Green Lake County had 39 new cases, Waupaca County had 66 new cases, and Waushara County reported 41 new cases of the coronavirus.
