Semi Driver Injured In Accident On Highway 26

A 47-year-old Toledo, Ohio man was seriously injured when the northbound semi tractor-trailer truck he was driving went off of State Highway 26 in the Town of Waupun and hit a tree. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say during the accident Friday morning the truck was totaled and the engine compartment became separated from the cab. Parts of the truck were damaged by fire and several residents used extinguishers to help out at the scene. An ambulance took the driver to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. The driver was wearing a seat belt. Numerous calls reported the accident at 8:42 am Friday morning.
