The Packers were back on the practice field Wednesday getting ready for the Minnesota Vikings game Sunday night at Lambeau Field.
Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers have activated CB Jaire Alexander (ji-air) off injured reserve, elevated T/G Cole Van Lanen from the practice squad to the active roster as a COVID-19 replacement, placed S Henry Black, P Corey Bojorquez (buh-HOR-kez), TE Tyler Davis and DL Kingsley Keke (kee-kee) on the reserve/COVID-19 list, signed LB Aaron Adeoye (uh-DAY-oh-yay), T Adrian Ealy, CB Jayson Stanley and RB Kerrith Whyte to the practice squad and placed Stanley on the practice squad reserve/COVID-19 list. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Wednesday.
Aaron Rodgers discussed his future on Wednesday, and would not rule out retirement. In mere weeks, Rodgers could earn a 4th NFL MVP award. Only Peyton Manning has more than three MVPs. But after this season? Rodgers said staying in Green Bay, going elsewhere, or even retiring at the top of his game, is all still on the table.
“I wouldn’t rule (retirement) out,” Rodgers said. “I think that I am just enjoying this season for this season… You know I still can play. I still have a love for the game. I still am super competitive. There will be a lot of things that I weigh in the offseason. Saying that doesn’t mean, or any of the comments I’ve made, don’t mean that I am thinking about elsewhere. The things I have said about the team this year, about Brian (Gutekunst) and I’s relationship, have been heartfelt and genuine and I do appreciate a lot of the things that I have seen from the team. I have enjoyed being a part of conversations that directly affect my job, which I talked about in the offseason. And Brian has taken a lead in that. And I do appreciate the way our relationship has grown. I am just savoring this year as much as anything. It won’t be anything where I will drag it out for months and months. I will have conversations with my loved ones after the season, with Brian and Mark and Russ and the coaching staff and make a decision at some point. You know I won’t hold the team back from anything.”.
Meanwhile wide receiver Davamte Adams was asked what his reaction was when Rodgers earlier this week called him the best receiver he’s ever played with. He said he was surprised and said it means a lot to him. Adams said the two have a great relationship on-and-off the field. He also said he’ll continue to be the best wide receiver he can be.
In the NBA tonight the Bucks play at Orlando. Milwaukee beat the Magic 127-110 Tuesday night.
Tonight the Las Vegas Bowl moves into Allegiant Stadium, home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders, with showdown featuring the Big Ten’s Wisconsin Badgers (8-4) and Arizona State Sun Devils (8-4) of the Pac-12.
Both teams entered the season with conference title aspirations but fell short. Badgers freshman Braelon Allen was a breakout star with 1,109 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns. Quarterback Jayden Daniels is a dual threat for the Sun Devils and will have to use his legs after leading runner Rachaad White opted out of the game.
Tonight’s kickoff is at 9:30 CDT. Listen to it on the WAVE 93.1 and AM 1600 beginning at 7:30 pm.

Johnny Davis, the Badgers’ leading scorer, had 20 points on 6-of-23 shooting and 11 rebounds. Second-leading scorer Brad Davison was held to seven points on 1-of-9 shooting. Tyler Wahl finished with 18 points while Chucky Hepburn had 13 for Wisconsin (10-2).
Illinois State (8-6) battled back from a 19-point deficit early in the second half and got within 81-80 on Antonio Reeves’ 3-pointer with 2 minutes left. After a Davison miss, Illinois State had a chance to take the lead, but Reeves’ floater was off the mark.
Reeves then committed his fifth foul on Wisconsin’s next possession, putting Davison on the line, where he hit both shots. Reeves led the Redbirds with 23 points, while Sy Chatman had 22. Chatman also fouled out late in the game on a charge, and Wisconsin closed it out by going 8 for 8 from the free-throw line.
