Four Go Through The Ice On Lake Poygan
30 December 2021 News
Four people were able to safely make their way out of Lake Poygan Wednesday night after their ATV went through the ice. At 7:20 pm the Winnebago County 911 Center received an emergency call about the incident. Fire departments from Winneconne/Poygan, Boom Bay, and Poy Sippi, the Oshkosh Fire Department’s Ambulance Service, and Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene. The four individuals, 3 juveniles and 1 adult were able to make their own way out of the lake and walk off the ice. They were treated at the scene and released. Sheriff’s Lieutenant Craig Quick reminds residents that no ice is safe and residents should check with local fishing clubs and guides about conditions before venturing out on the ice.
