Fire On River Road In The Town Of Oakfield
6 December 2021 News
Firefighters were able to contain a fire Monday morning in the Town of Oakfield that started from a rekindled garbage pile. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say workers Sunday burned the pile thinking it was out but high winds rekindled the embers spreading them to cornstalk bales at Joas Farms Pasture Products at W7431 River Road. When first responders arrived flames were coming from the bales of cornstalk covering an area approximately 8 feet by 300 feet. A nearby barn was threatened but the fire was contained. The fire is not considered suspicious. No animals or buildings were harmed and no injuries occurred.
