FDL County Sheriff’s Deputy Injured During Attack

A 32-year-old Milwaukee man is facing charges for injuring a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy during an incident in Fond du Lac Tuesday afternoon. Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says the deputy responded to the area of I-41 just north of State Highway 23 or West Johnson Street for a report of a man walking in and out of traffic. The suspect, who has mental issues, attacked the deputy. The deputy suffered a significant knee injury. Both the deputy and suspect were taken to St. Agnes Hospital after the man complained of chest pain. Charges being referred against the Milwaukee man include battery to a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer causing injury. The time of the incident was 2:33 pm.
