Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services says the number of counties in the state with “critically high” levels of COVID-19 has dropped from the past week when 26 counties belonged in that category. The department said Thursday that 19 counties still belong in that category, while 52 are in the “very high” category and 1 is in the “high” category. Winnebago County remains in the “critically high” category, while Dodge, Green Lake, Fond du Lac, Waupaca and Waushara counties are among the counties in the “very high” category. The DHS yesterday also reported 3,987 new cases, 61 deaths, and 232 hospitalizations.

Winnebago County Thursday reported 197 new COVID-19 cases and four deaths. Seventy-two (72) new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 69 new cases. Green Lake County had 13 news cases, Waupaca County had 46 new cases, and Waushara County reported 23 new cases of the coronavirus and two deaths.
