Oshkosh Teen Leads FDL County Sheriff’s Deputy On High Speed Chase

A 17-year-old Oshkosh man is facing charges for leading a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy on a high speed chase in the Town of Fond du Lac Tuesday afternoon. A deputy pulled the teen over for speeding on Highway 151 near Townline Road, but he would not roll down his window and after a brief conversation with the deputy took off. The chase reached speeds of 100 miles an hour as the suspect passed multiple vehicles on the shoulder of the road. The suspect’s vehicle turned onto Rolling Meadows Drive in Fond du Lac and crashed in a ditch behind a business. The teen took off on foot but was eventually caught. Charges being referred against him include felony eluding, 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety charges and traffic citations. There were no injuries or property damage. The pursuit began around 2 pm and covered 4.7 miles.
