In the NFC North Sunday night Dallas, despite playing without starting quarterback Dak Prescott, held on for a 20-16 victory at Minnesota. Cooper Rush was 24-40 for 325 yards, two touchdowns and one interception to lead the Cowboys. Wide receiver Amari Cooper caught eight passes for 122 yards and a touchdown and CeeDee Lamb had six catches for 112 yards. Minnesota’s Kirk Cousins was 22-35 for 184 yards and a touchdown. Adam Thielen caught six passes for 78 yards and a touchdown. Dallas improves to 6-1 while the Vikings drop to 3-4.
Elsewhere in the NFC North Sunday, Chicago (3-5) lost at home to the 49ers 33-22 and the Lions (0-8) remain winless after being pounded at home by the Eagles 44-6.
Tonight the New York Giants (2-5) play at Kansas City (3-4).
The Houston Astros stayed alive in the World Series Sunday night with a wild, come-from-behind 9-5 victory over the Braves, to send the Series back to Houston for game-six Tuesday night. The Astros bounced back from a first-inning grand slam by Atlanta’s Adam Duvall, as the Braves looked to win their first World Series title since 1995 and the first since the club moved into its five-year-old park in suburban Cobb County. Then Houston’s bats came alive. Light-hitting catcher Martin Maldonado drove in three runs and batting as a pinch-hitter in the nine-hole, Marwin Gonzalez stroked a key two-run single. Shortstop Carlos Correa went 3-5 and drove in two runs The Astros tied the game up with two runs in each of the third and fourth innings. Atlanta’s Freddie Freeman put the Braves back on top in the bottom of the fourth with a 460 foot homer and then Houston took the lead for good with three runs in the top of the fifth and added single runs in the seventh and eighth for the final margin of victory. Jose Urquidy picked the win in relief while A.J. Minter suffered the loss. Game six is Tuesday night.
The Bucks lost at home Sunday night to the Utah Jazz 107-95. Donavan Mitchell led the Jazz with 28 points while Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 25. Milwaukee (3-4) plays at Detroit Tuesday.
Graham Mertz scored on two quarterback sneaks and threw a touchdown pass to help Wisconsin trounce No. 9 Iowa 27-7 on Saturday for its fourth consecutive victory. Wisconsin (5-3, 3-2 Big Ten) forced three turnovers, produced six sacks and limited Iowa to 24 yards rushing on 30 carries. The Badgers maintained control of their destiny in the Big Ten West Division race and regained possession of the Heartland Trophy that goes to the winner of this annual matchup. Wisconsin’s student section poured onto the field as the Badgers’ players brought out the trophy.
Iowa (6-2, 3-2) has been outscored 51-14 in its last two games after being ranked second in the nation just a couple of weeks ago. This was the Hawkeyes’ first game since a 24-7 home loss to Purdue on Oct. 16. Iowa’s net yardage total didn’t get into positive territory for good until midway through the second quarter when the Hawkeyes already trailed 17-0. Iowa didn’t pick up a first down until just 1:15 remained in the second quarter.
Wisconsin’s Braelon Allen rushed for 104 yards on 20 attempts The 17-year-old freshman has run for over 100 yards in four straight games after totaling just 12 carries in Wisconsin’s first four games.
The Badgers built a 20-0 halftime lead as Iowa fumbled three times inside its own 20-yard line in the second quarter, leading to 10 points for the Badgers. Iowa was ranked third and Wisconsin tied for 124th among all Football Bowl Subdivision teams in turnover margin before Saturday’s game.
Iowa got back in the game early in the third quarter as Petras scored from 1 yard out on a quarterback sneak. Iowa advanced to Wisconsin territory on its next possession, but Scott Nelson and Jack Sanborn stopped fullback Monte Pottebaum for no gain on fourth-and-1 from the 40.
Wisconsin’s next possession culminated with Mertz’s second 1-yard touchdown run, giving the Badgers a 27-7 edge with 12:54 left.
Mertz went 11 of 22 for 104 yards. He threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jake Ferguson late in the first quarter to put Wisconsin ahead for good.
Wisconsin tight end Clay Cundiff was carted off the field in an ambulance with his leg in an air cast after he got hurt in the closing seconds of the third quarter. His teammates gathered around him to offer support before the ambulance took him away. Cundiff gave a thumbs-up to a cheering crowd as he went into the

The Milwaukee Bucks will celebrate their championship with an appearance at the White House on November 8th. The Bucks will be in the nation’s capitol to play the Washington Wizards the night before. Milwaukee is the first NBA team to visit the White House since the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers saw President Barack Obama. The Bucks defeated the Phoenix Suns in July to win their first title in 50 years.
