Lomira Man Injured In FDL County Accident

Both drivers shared some fault in a Fond du Lac County accident that led to serious injuries for a 33-year-old Lomira man early Wednesday morning. According to the Sheriff’s Office it happened on County Highway D in the area of Hunter Lane in the Town of Fond du Lac. A 70-year-old Fond du Lac area man was backing a semi-tractor with attached milk tanker into a private driveway. While performing the backing maneuver the trailer blocked the southbound lanes. The Lomira man was heading south in his vehicle and struck the tanker-trailer becoming stuck near the rear wheels of the trailer. After he was extricated he was flown to a trauma center for medical treatment of serious injuries. The truck driver wasn’t injured, but officials say is responsible for the unsafe backing of the trailer that was a prime contributing factor in the crash. The Lomira man was arrested for suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. The accident was reported just before 12:30 Wednesday morning.

Envision Gift Boxes

Envision Greater Fond du Lac’s Agri-Business Council is raising funds by selling gift boxes showcasing local food products. Amy Ries is the Director of Agricultural Programming for Envision and is overseeing the gift box fundraiser. She says there are three boxes to choose from with prices of $25, $50, and $75 in value. The more expensive the box the more products they contain. You can find things like cheese, sausage, meats, cheese curds, even Peanut Butter cows. Ries says it is a way to promote those that make the food products and send samples all over the country in time for Christmas. For $10 more you can have it shipped somewhere else in Wisconsin or for $20 more anywhere outside of Wisconsin and include a personal message inside. Boxes can be picked up at the Envision offices in Fond du Lac from December 13th through the 17th. Those being sent elsewhere will be shipped out on December 13th. Orders can be submitted by visiting the Envision website and clicking on the events tab, then the blue field in the calendar that comes up. Another option is to call the Envision offices at 920-921-9500 and ask for Amy.
