Be The Light Community Event and Lantern Walk

13 November 2021 News

Saturday, November 20, 5:30 – 7 P.M. all are welcome to a lantern-lit walk and celebration of community, kindness, and more at the Ripon Public Library, 120 Jefferson Street.

Gather outdoors to enjoy a campfire, gourmet cookies and popcorn courtesy of Patina Vie/Belle’s Treats, and an amazing “be the light” art project with Carissa Sorensen. From 6:30-7 P.M., the event will shift to a presentation devoted to kindness and honoring helpers in our community with readings and applause.

Things to Know

Dress for the weather! Please bring your lawn chairs. This free event is made possible with funding from the Friends of the Ripon Public Library.

Get Ready!

Please contribute messages of kindness ahead of the event. Get inspired by Ripon. Think about this community, the everyday people you meet, and its service workers in schools, churches, stores, restaurants, medical services, and local media outlets. Consider city departments and staff from police and fire to public works, from the ambulance service, senior center, and city council members to utilities and the library. Remember the volunteers who keep many public and private Ripon facilities and services humming. To submit, email decramer@riponlibrary.org. Include your name or submit anonymously.

Take & Make lantern kits are available for pick up at the library while supplies last.

For more information on this, as well as a host of free library offerings, call 920-748-6160, visit the library’s website, or follow the library on Facebook.
