Missing Man And Baby In FDL County Found Safe

The search for a missing 24-year-old Fond du Lac man and his 4-month-old baby reached a safe conclusion Friday morning when they were located at an address in the City of Fond du Lac. Jordan Smack and Serenity Smack had been missing since Jordan walked into a marshy area with the baby following a minor traffic accident on Brown Road west of Townline Road in the Town of Lamartine late Thursday night. When deputies began searching they found the baby’s car seat just north of the crash site in a wooded area. Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says he and Lamartine Fire Chief Joe Birschbach extend their sincere appreciation to the over 100 emergency personal from multiple agencies who participated in the search for Jordan and Serenity and thank all the residents who provided tips and information. The circumstances surrounding the crash and what happened afterward are being investigated by the Sheriff’s Office. A woman who was with Jordan and Serenity at the time of the crash managed to get their vehicle out of the ditch and drive it back to Fond du Lac. Unable to reach Jordan’s cell phone for several hours she called the Sheriff’s Office at 2:30 Friday morning and told them about Jordan and Serenity.

Emergency personnel in Fond du Lac County are looking for a 24-year-old man and his 4 month old baby who disappeared into a marshy area following a minor traffic accident on Brown Road west of Townline Road in the Town of Lamartine late Thursday night. A woman called the Sheriff’s Office at 2:30 this morning when she was unable to reach her friend Jordan who took his baby Serenity who was in a car seat out of the vehicle after it got stuck in a ditch. She said he had headed into a marshy area. She was able to get the car out of the ditch and drove back home to Fond du Lac. After repeated attempts to reach him on his cell phone failed she called the Sheriff’s Office. The empty car seat was found in a wooded area north of the crash site. Jordan was wearing a dark blue hoodie and gray sweatpants. Serenity was bundled in blankets. If you have information on their whereabouts call the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office at 920-929-3390.
