Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services Tuesday reported new COVID-19 case numbers and deaths well above the 7-day averages for both. The 3,549 new cases were almost 900 more than the 7-day average of 2,663 new cases per day. The 23 deaths yesterday brought the death toll since the pandemic began to 8,064 lives lost and is significantly higher than the 7-day average of 13 new deaths per day. Another 245 people were also hospitalized. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says there are 1,136 COVID patients in hospitals across the state with 310 of them in intensive care units.

Winnebago County Tuesday reported 254 new COVID-19 cases and 2 deaths. Sixty new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and 45 new cases and 1 death in Dodge County. Green Lake County had 43 new cases, Waupaca County reported 63 new cases, and Waushara County’s latest count adds 29 new coronavirus cases.
