The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says the 7-day average for new COVID-19 cases is under 2,300 for the first time since mid-September. The average Thursday dipped to 2,296 new cases per day. The Wisconsin Hospital Association Thursday reported 1,123 COVID-19 patients are in hospitals across the state with 292 in intensive care units. It’s the first time since September 1st that there have been fewer than 300 COVID patients in intensive care units during a single day. The news wasn’t all positive though as 13 more deaths were attributed to the coronavirus pushing the total number of lives lost during the pandemic to 8,230.
Winnebago County Thursday reported 69 new COVID-19 cases and 1 death. Sixty-one new cases and 1 death were recorded in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 55 new cases. Green Lake County had 8 new cases, Waupaca County 49 new cases, and Waushara County reported 38 new cases of the coronavirus.
