Wisconsin passed two more milestones in the pandemic over the weekend reaching more than 750,000 total COVID-19 cases and 40,000 hospitalizations over the past 20 months. The state’s Department of Health Services reported 5,181 new cases over the weekend including 1,201 in the latest batch of test results. The death toll also increased by 44 to 8,151 lives lost during the health crisis. The state averaged 107 hospitalizations a day over the weekend. The Wisconsin Hospital Association Monday reported 1,179 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state with 317 of them in intensive care units.
Winnebago County Monday reported 142 new COVID-19 cases and 1 death. Since last Friday Fond du Lac County has recorded 164 new COVID cases and Dodge County’s latest numbers show 82 additional cases. Twelve new cases were reported in Green Lake County, 72 new cases in Waupaca County, and Waushara County has 28 new coronavirus cases and 1 death.
