Names Released From Village Of Rosendale Traffic Crash
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the two drivers involved in a vehicle versus semi collision at the intersection of State Highways 26 and 23 in the Village of Rosendale Monday night. Thirty-one-year-old Julie Greiten of Rosendale was unable to avoid the truck that went through a red light at the intersection. She wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was taken to St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. The 64-year-old Minnesota man driving the semi, Charles Meuser, wasn’t injured. Investigators say inattentive driving appears to be a factor in the crash. The accident was reported to the County’s Communication Center at 8:31 Monday evening. Members of the Rosendale Fire Department, Ripon EMS, and the State Patrol assisted at the scene.
Getting Kids Tested For COVID
Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller is asking a favor of kids’ parents or guardians when it comes to COVID-19 testing. The County is currently providing mobile testing Tuesdays at the Rosendale Community Center and Thursdays at the County Fairgrounds in Fond du Lac from Noon to 5 pm. But she urges the parents or guardians of children to have the kids tested for the coronavirus through their school if that is being offered. She says the lines at the community testing sites might be too long and inconvenient at times if you’re waiting to have a child tested. The Mobile testing began yesterday at the Rosendale Community Center.
Hoping For Success
The President and CEO of Envision Greater Fond du Lac says they are hoping the new Fond du Lac County Worker Relocation Incentive Program is a success drawing new workers and their families to the county and providing employers with skilled workers. Sadie Parafiniuk says they have enough funding to get them through at least six months. She says the program is open to any business or industry trying to recruit employees. Through the program employers can offer up to $15,000 in incentives and if an employee works for them for 12 months straight they will be reimbursed for half of the incentives they offer. Parafiniuk hopes it is successful enough that they will have to go back to County Executive Al Buechel and the County Board to ask for more funding. The program is the first of its kind in the state.
Ripon Senior Center Donations Welcome
Ripon Senior Activity Center Executive Director Noreen Johnson says they welcome donations for the Senior Center/Trailhead building that will be constructed in Murray Park. About half of the funding is in place for the $2.2 million project with the possibility of a DNR Stewardship Grant and using American Rescue Plan Act money towards it. But Johnson says they’ve received other donations and will take whatever someone might want to or could afford to give. Checks can be written out to the City of Ripon Senior Center or Ripon Senior Center as long as you note it is for the new building fund. Donations are tax deductible and donation slips can be found on the back of the Center’s newsletter for this month.
