Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services says COVID-19 activity remains very high in 56 of the state’s 72 counties and high in the other 16. On the other hand the DHS says the coronavirus’s spread over the last two weeks shows “no significant” change. The state identified 2,064 new cases Wednesday pushing the 7-day rolling average up to 1,590 new cases daily. Nineteen more deaths were also reported putting the death toll since the pandemic began to 7,686 lives lost. The DHS also reported 187 new hospitalizations. The Wisconsin Hospital Association yesterday reported 1,039 COVID patients in the state’s 136 hospitals with 313 of them in intensive care units.
Winnebago County Wednesday reported 66 new COVID-19 cases and 1 death. Thirty-one new cases were reported in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 12 new cases and 1 death. Green Lake County recorded a dozen new cases, Waupaca County 11, and Waushara County had 10 new cases.
